The Thailand Yacht Show’s Not to Miss List

The Thailand Yacht Show will open its doors at the stunning Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket in less than one week. We are excited to share some of the latest highlights from the upcoming edition which runs from 15-18 December.

Based in Phuket, M/Y Northern Sun (returning to the Thailand Yacht Show with Burgess Yachts) is instantly recognisable as she cuts a “nautical chic” silhouette through her home waters in Thailand. With a distinctly Asian influence throughout her décor, you will be instantly enveloped in a sense of calm when you step on-board. The 51-meter superyacht can accommodate 12 charter guests in 6 luxurious cabins. Zeelander Z44’s stunning smooth curves and classic lines will make her unmistakable at this edition of the Thailand Yacht Show. She is on show with Northrop & Johnson Asia, who will also co-present M/Y Mia Kai, a 30m Bilgin yacht in pristine condition following an extensive refit in 2015, with Blue Water Yachting Co. Leading Asian yacht dealer, Simpson Marine, will be featuring a wide array of premier vessels at the Ao Po Grand Marina for TYS. The MCY70 motoryacht features an elegant design from world class Italian yacht designers Nuvolari Lenard combined with the quality and performance the builder Monte Carlo Yachts is known for. The Lagoon 42 is an award-winning model launched at the beginning of 2016. This multihull encompasses clean, elegant design with exceptional functionality. The Oceanis 41 sailing yacht puts a focus on performance. With its mast set further back, offering greater stability, it optimises balance under sail and combined with a stylish interior by Italian design house Nauta Design.

Boat Lagoon Yachting comes to the second edition of the Thailand Yacht Show with a line-up of six boats. Showcasing three Jeanneau and three Princess models, there is a vessel to suit every type of charter from a relaxing intimate escape, to an energetic family fun week of cruising. Jeanneau vessels are known for their skilled craftsmanship and are distinguished by the elegance of their boats. With clean, modern lines drawn by world renowned naval architects, each boat is attractive yet comfortable and always easy to handle. Princess Yachts is renowned for offering the best of British craftsmanship delivering one of kind vessels crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

Hong Seh Marine, Singapore-based dealer will be sailing into the Show in style, with the Viking 50 and Everglades 355 CCX making their way up to Phuket in a fleet of made up of their VIP clients’ boats. Viking Yachts recently celebrated over five decades in the building luxury performance sports fishing and cruising yachts. Built in semi-custom fiberglass, they have delivered over 4,000 vessels worldwide. Each Everglades boat is built with patented features customised to each vessel. Leading the industry in standard features, from aesthetics, to engineering, they produce some of the finest family fishing boats on the water.

Supercars on Display

Off the water, a supercar showcase of Lamborghinis and Ferraris, representing the ultimate level of automotive excellence will be on parade at the Thailand Yacht Show. Encompassing strong tradition, design and performance ideals, both brands boast a long-standing heritage in the development of the luxury automobile market worldwide. Visitors will have a chance to get up close and personal with the finest in Italian supercar craftsmanship.

Artists in Residence

The Thailand Yacht Show is pleased to welcome two artists in residence, Tim Bengel and Isara who will be creating bespoke pieces during the show. German born, Tim Bengel creates unique artwork utilizing sand and gold, and his concepts exude both serenity and decadence. Stop by to see his creative process in action. Isara will be creating a yachting themed masterpiece, to be placed on display at the Show. Bringing the beauty of the region’s cruising grounds and the majesty of the yachts on display to a piece of artwork, Isara will provide the opportunity for the Show’s art-aficionados to take a piece of the dream home with them.

As a fitting centerpiece to the exhibition at the Ao Po Grand Marina, the Thailand Yacht Show is deeply honoured to have on display several of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's own self-built sailing boats, a tribute to his passion for the sport of dinghy racing. This fascinating exhibition also showcases some of his other nautical achievements, generously provided by the Thai Shipbuilding Association.
